House with neck-gable

Period of construction: 18th century

Small house with a floor area of 5 by 7 metres. Extended in 2001 to 5 by 11 metres. On the façade the maxim ‘Door den Tyd wordt de Spruyt een Boom’ (In Time the Sprout will be a Tree). This was the motto of the 19th century chamber of rhetoric Achilles. The maxim has been placed in the 20th century. House Sprout looks like a bonsai-tree next to its tall neighbours. Small and charming. A sprout forever.
